PAMA will introduce the Instructor Certification Program later this year. Below you will find the general information and terms.
PAMA Instructor Certification Program and Terms
PAMA Instructor Certification Program aims to promote professional abacus and mental arithmetic knowledge, enhance instructor skills for higher quality education and ultimately elevate the social status and professional image of abacus and mental arithmetic instructors. PAMA implores all members to take a serious approach in regards to the program. Not only will it strengthen the competitiveness and professional image of your companies, it will also elevates the educational mission of abacus and mental arithmetic around the world.
1. Instructor Certification Levels
(1) Elementary Instructor (One-star Instructor)
Instructors must successfully pass all subjects (addition and subtraction, multiplication, division) in Level 7 Abacus and Level 8 Mental Arithmetic, and complete a on-site demonstration of classroom instruction for at least 5 minutes. The demonstration questions will be selected from PAMA question bank.
(2) Intermediate Instructor (Two-star Instructor)
Instructors must successfully pass all subjects (addition and subtraction, multiplication, division) in Level 5 Abacus and Level 6 Mental Arithmetic, and complete a on-site demonstration of instruction for at least 10 minutes. The demonstration questions will be selected from PAMA question bank.
(3) Advanced Instructor (Three-star Instructor)
Instructors must successfully pass all subjects (addition and subtraction, multiplication, division) in Level 3 Abacus and Level 4 Mental Arithmetic, and complete a on-site demonstration of instruction for at least 15 minutes. The demonstration questions will be selected from PAMA question bank.
(4) Professional Instructor (Four-star Instructor)
Instructors must successfully pass all subjects (addition and subtraction, multiplication, division) in Level 1 Abacus and Level 2 Mental Arithmetic, and complete a on-site demonstration of instruction for at least 20 minutes. The demonstration questions will be selected from PAMA question bank.
Please visit PAMA website for sample questions and exam standards, including exam levels, time limit and scoring. For the on-site demonstration questions, there will be 10 questions available to draw or be assigned by exam supervisors. Exam supervisors will provide 10 questions for practice to the instructors at the time of registration.
2. Certificates
(1) All certificates will be issued by PAMA Secretariat. Instructors can use the search function on PAMA websites to verify their certificates
(2) The Instructor Certificates will be endorsed jointly by PAMA founder, Mr. David Liao and the Director of Abacus and Mental Arithmetic and Mathematics Committee of Taiwan Chamber of Commerce, Ms. Hsiao Chiu Yung.
3. Registration Fees
(1) Elementary Instructor (One-star Instructor): The registration fee for the Elementary Instructor Certification is $100 US per person.
(2) Intermediate Instructor (Two-star Instructor): The registration fee for the Intermediate Instructor Certification is $150 US per person.
(3) Advanced Instructor (Three-star Instructor): The registration fee for the Advanced Instructor Certification is $200 US per person.
(4) Professional Instructor (Four-star Instructor): The registration fee for the Professional Instructor Certification is $250 US per person.
